I first joined Twitter so that I could meet likeminded people and appeal to them for calm in the wake of the UK riots. It proved to be an invaluable tool; opening up a world I hoped existed, but didn’t dare ever believe. It was overwhelming and I finally felt comfortable in my own skin. This was a way to meet people with whom I could just be and together, we could change the world.

"I understood suicide was the conclusion to feelings of worthlessness and Anhedonia, that if a person makes that decision then they do not want to exist anymore. To my friends who live outside of Turkey:

I am writing to let you know what is going on in Istanbul for the last five days. I personally have to write this because at the time of my writing most of the media sources are shut down by the government and the word of mouth and the internet are the only ways left for us to explain ourselves and call for help and support.
